Posing the task
Due to the installation of a new production line, the Japanese manufacturer of technical ceramic was forced to clean ensuing exhaust gasses. This has to do with the fluorine compounds contained in the raw material and expelled during the burning of ceramics in through-type furnaces, which are emitted as hydrogen fluoride (HF).
Solution / Highlights
The packed bed filter, KERASORB, is deployed for this application, by which the hydrogen fluoride is economically and reliably absorbed on a packed bed of limestone granulate. The filter is manufactured at the LTB factory and is delivered as an operationally ready unit, already mounted and wired. The system was packed in an appropriately seaworthy, wood casing for the transport to Japan.
