Posing the tasks
For the pharmaceutical product manufacturer with a long tradition, what mattered was the replacement of those exhaust air combustion elements which were no longer up to the state of technology. In that the factory is located in the immediate vicinity of a residential area, the limit values of TA Luft or the 17th BimSchV must be undercut by a considerable amount.
The multi-purpose production system produces various agents at this location. In addition to the ensuing exhaust air flows in this context, Exhaust air from the research and development laboratories must also be safely disposed of. The process demands on the exhaust air purification system are very complex due to the batch operation associated with this.
Solution / Highlights
A partial flow of the exhaust air is cleaned by means of a filter with very fine particles. The exhaust air subsequently enters the combustion chamber, secured by explosion suppression elements. All organics will be oxidised to the defined operating parameters. A venturi washer as quencher and two downstream column-washers remove the organic exhaust air composition. A third wash column, designed as clear water washer, removes carried droplets and serves as a policing step. A visible exhaust air plume is prevented by a hot air heating
