Posing the tasks
John Deere, a manufacturer of agricultural machinery and vehicles, is operating paint shops for varnishing body parts and gear boxes. The exhaust air which contains volatile organic compounds, (VOC) has been treated so far with old, inefficient recuperative thermal oxidizers.
Due to increase of production capacities, running costs, bad emission levels and end of lifetime, these oxidizers had to be replaced with new economic systems in order to continue the production.
Solution / Highlights
An economic and up-to-date technology for treating VOC emissions are Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers, who have been chosen as replacement systems for this factory.
RTO 1:
Based on the local conditions, the new RTO could only be installed in the area of the old thermal oxidizer.
To carry out this job and to fit it into the original destination, a modification of the standard ROXITHERM design as well as the development of an intermediate size of the ROXITHERM-series was required.
RTO 2:
The second RTO unit (see picture on right) has been installed inside the production hall on a new steel structure. Low specific weight and compact design of the LTB ROXITHERM made this possible
