Task

Our customer is operating coating lines for the production of special coated fabrics at its facilities in Germany and Scotland. VOCs and especially fluorinated VOCs are emitted from the dryers of the coating lines, which requires a combined air treatment (oxidation of VOCs and dry scrubber for HF absorption).

Solution / Specials

LTB has proposed a compact 2-bed Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer unit, type ROXITHERM RTM with high thermal efficiency for autothermal operation, that means no additional fuel input. This provides low running costs and minimum installation space. For the treatment of the generated HF a downstream absorption filter based on packed bed technology is installed.
Finally the remaining energy in the exhaust gas is recovered with an air/water heat exchanger which provides hot water for the production areas.
