Pyrolysis gas purification

LTB Pyrolysis gas purification systems have been deployed successfully for many years.
Lufttechnik Bayreuth has constructed a multiple of systems appropriate to the subsequent use of the pyrolysis gasses. A conceptional differentiation must be made between systems, which process pyrolysis gas for a material recycling or for an energy recycling. Due to the explosion hazard, the gasses must, as a rule, be kept free from air admission, which requires a high degree of leak-tightness on most of the pressure-resistant equipment.

In addition to LTB spray and gas scrubber washers for removing gaseous contaminants, LTB venturi washers for dust and condensate removal are possible process solutions. Depending on the dust condition and composition, such as tar condensate, hose-filters or electro-filters can also be deployed. Various contaminants, such as carbon oxysulphite (COS), must first be transformed in order to be able to separate them. For fine purification of the gas, an LTB packed bed filter can be used. The subsequent energetic usage following the completed pyrolysis gas purification takes place for the most part in a steam boiler, gas motor or gas turbine.
Relying on the experience gained from many varied projects, definition of the multifaceted tasks associated with pyrolysis gas treatment can be solved through one source.
