Manufacture of Consumer Goods

Every manufacturing process that involves the use of a solvent and a combustion step will generate emissions of VOC and other pollutants which have to be treated.  The consumer goods industry is no exception, many manufacturers opting for state-of-the-art emissions control solutions in order to underscore the environmentally-friendly nature of their products. The consumer goods sector is diverse and wide-ranging; from the supply of clothing and footwear, textiles and leather goods to the manufacture of cosmetics and optics, from the production of pens and pencils to the building of sailing yachts.

Most household oven appliances, for example, are now supplied with non-stick interior surfaces for easy maintenance and cleaning.  During the manufacturing process, a silicon-based compound is applied to provide the non-stick feature.  The exhaust emissions from the process include VOC and Si-compounds.  Treatment in a regular regenerative thermal oxidiser (RTO) unit would result in clogging owing to the presence of siloxanes.  Here, LTB patented DeSiTHERM RTO technology, with its continuously regenerated heat exchanger media, has been applied successfully for such applications.

For other applications, LTB OxiTHERM thermal oxidiser and ROxiTHERM regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) systems have proven themselves over and over again.
